Romain Grosjean, Jolyon Palmer hit with grid penalties in China

Romainb Grosjean and Jolyon Palmer have both been handed five-place grid penalties for the Chinese Grand Prix, after race stewards deemed they failed to slow sufficiently for double waved yellow flags. The pair were on flying laps when they came around the final corner to find Antonio Giovinazzi's Sauber in the middle of the track after the Italian spun and hit the wall. Yellow flags were shown at the time, forcing both to back off. However the FIA stated that both Grosjean and Palmer 'attempted to set a meaningful laptime after passing through a double waved yellow marshalling sector' during Q1.
