Lewis Hamilton snatches Chinese GP pole position, Sebastian Vettel second

Lewis Hamilton will start the 2017 Chinese Grand Prix on pole positon after beating Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel at the Shanghai International Circuit. It is Hamilton’s sixth consecutive pole position, his sixth time setting the pace in Chinese GP qualifying and the lap is the fastest ever completed at the track. The Mercedes racer held provisional pole after the opening runs in Q3, before he improved with a 1:31.678 on his final attempt to secure first on the grid. Vettel just missed out by under two tenths of a second, with Valtteri Bottas 0.001 seconds behind the Ferrari driver in third.
