Malaysia to host final F1 race in 2017
This year's Malaysian Grand Prix will be the country's final F1 race after a mutual agreement between F1 and the Sepang International Circuit. Malaysia first played host to F1 in 1999, a race won by Ferrari driver Eddie Irvine. Although Sepang had a contract in place that would run through to 2018, F1 commercial boss Sean Bratches has confirmed that the circuit will host its final grand prix this season. 'It’s always sad to say goodbye to a member of the Formula 1 family,' Bratches said.
