Fernando Alonso says mid-season quit rumours 'definitely not true'

McLaren's Fernando Alonso insists he won't be quitting Formula 1 or McLaren mid-season following speculative comments from former driver Mark Webber. Alonso has grown increasingly frustrated with McLaren's engine partner Honda, with its power unit severely lacking performance and reliability despite a complete redesign this season, done in an effort to catch rivals Renault, Ferrari and Mercedes. At present, that hasn't paid off, with estimates suggesting the redesigned unit is actually less powerful than its predecessor run during the 2016 campaign, leading Webber to question whether or not Alonso can keep up his motivation until the end of the year.
