Williams gets suspended fine over gearbox
– Williams has been handed a 25,000 fine, suspended for the entirety of the season, after failing to inform the FIA of its intention to change the gearbox in Lance Stroll's FW40.Stroll crashed out of the final practice session and the damage to his car meant a replacement gearbox was required, though the team did not inform the FIA of the change, a breach of Article 23.5c of the regulations.FIA Technical Delegate Jo Bauer referred the matter to the stewards, who opted to distribute a suspended fine for the transgression."It was agreed that the team did not affirmatively inform the FIA Technical Delegate of the change of gearbox that occurred between FP3 and qualifying on car...
