FIA confident of protest-free season-opener

– Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, is confident that the Australian Grand Prix will not involve any protests over suspension systems after asking some teams to change their designs.Ferrari sparked a row in the build up to the 2017 season when the team wrote a letter to the FIA, seeking clarification over 'trick' suspension systems, as it was considering its own design.F1 banned FRIC (Front and Rear Inter-Connected) suspension back in 2014, but some teams, notably Mercedes, developed workaround systems to improve the handling of their cars.Ferrari spoke of a system that could replicate FRIC without a physical connection between the front and the rear of the car, and asked whether...
