Gelael joins Toro Rosso for in-season F1 tests

Formula 2 driver Sean Gelael will take part in three Formula 1 tests with Toro Rosso during the 2017 season in Bahrain, Hungary and Abu Dhabi. Gelael, 20, has been a junior single-seater driver since 2012. He finished 28th and 18th in European F3 in 2013 and 2014 respectively, before spending a year in Formula Renault 3.5. He made his GP2 debut that year as well, and became a full-time driver in the series in 2016, finishing 15th with a podium finish at Red Bull Ring. Gelael will make his official debut in a Formula 1 car on 18-19 April during the first in-season F1 test in Bahrain.
