Ericsson: Mixed feelings over using old Ferrari engine

Barcelona Testing – Marcus Ericsson has mixed feelings over Sauber using a year-old Ferrari engine in 2017. After facing financial struggles through last year, Sauber retained Ferrari engines for the upcoming season but agreed the cheaper option of using the older specification. Ericsson, however, says he is unsure of how it was affect their season. “I think it’s impossible to know at the moment,” he said, “We know what we get and we know that’s our package for this year and we need to maximise that and if that’s going to be good enough or not compared to the competitors, I think it’s written in the stars!” With downforce levels increasing by thirty per cent in 2017, the...
