Canada extends Formula 1 deal until 2029
– The Canadian Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until at least 2029 after race promoters Octane agreed to extend the current contract.The event joined the Formula 1 calendar in 1967 and since 1978 has been held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, located on Montréal's Île Notre-Dame, absent only in 1987 and 2009.A 10-year deal was signed during the course of the 2014 event, with new facilities planned, including revamped paddock and race control buildings.A circuit spokesperson confirmed to GPUpdate.net that the original contract, which was to run until 2024, has now been extended until 2029."I can confirm that Octane Racing Group has signed a five-year extension...
