Vandoorne – Positive day despite 'unknown' power unit issues
Barcelona testing – Stoffel Vandoorne conceded that investigations into the Honda power unit issues were still ongoing, but he had a 'good first feeling' of the MCL32. Following a troublesome first day for McLaren in pre-season testing, further issues with the Honda power unit restricted Stoffel Vandoorne to just 40 laps of running. None of those 40 laps troubled the top times set by Ferrari and Mercedes, with Vandoorne finishing the day in tenth place and 4.6 seconds off the pace.
