Smedley doubts major change in F1 order

– Formula 1's pecking order is unlikely to be shaken up by the overhauled regulations arriving for 2017, according to Williams performance chief Rob Smedley.Formula 1 will enter a new technical era this year, with cars set to be three-to-five seconds per lap faster, as a result of increased downforce levels and wider Pirelli tyres.Previous regulation changes have sometimes resulted in a new pace-setter emerging, such as in 2014, when Mercedes vaulted to the front under V6 turbo power units.Smedley, though, doubts the changes for 2017 will have such an effect.  "I hope it's going to shake things up a bit but I don't think we'll have a complete change in pecking order,"...
