FIA welcomes Liberty Media's takeover

– Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, has welcomed Liberty Media's takeover of the sport, which was confirmed on Monday, and also paid tribute to outgoing CEO Bernie Ecclestone.As part of the deal, Chase Carey has replaced Ecclestone as Formula 1's new CEO, while Ross Brawn and Sean Bratches have landed sporting and commercial roles respectively."As Formula 1's governing body, the FIA would like to welcome the new CEO, Chase Carey and his entire team to the championship," commented FIA President Jean Todt in a statement.Todt, who has acted as President since 2009, continued: "The whole FIA organisation is looking forward to working closely together, with the common...
