FIA President Jean Todt welcomes Liberty Media arrival

Formula 1’s governing body, the FIA, has welcomed the arrival of new owners Liberty Media, and paid tribute to outgoing CEO Bernie Ecclestone. Liberty confirmed on Monday that it had completed its acquisition of the sport, following last week’s approval by the FIA, and installed Chase Carey as Ecclestone’s replacement, with Ross Brawn and Sean Bratchers appointed to senior roles. “As Formula 1’s governing body, the FIA would like to welcome the new CEO, Chase Carey and his entire team to the championship,” said FIA President Jean Todt. “The whole FIA organisation is looking forward to working closely together, with the common goal of improving and...
