Pirelli granted day of wet tyre testing during first pre-season test

Pirelli have been granted a day of wet tyre testing during the opening pre-season test to give teams and drivers their first taste of the new full wet and intermediate tyres. Although testing is run in late-February and early-March, wet weather isn't a guarantee in Barcelona at that time of year, therefore Pirelli had hoped to find agreement with the teams that they could artifically wet the track on at least one of the four test days. That has now been agreed, though Pirelli are likely to hold off until the final day in the hope it will rain naturally.
