George Russell joins Mercedes F1 junior driver programme

Rising British racer George Russell has joined Mercedes' junior driver programme ahead of the 2017 season, when he will race in the GP3 Series with ART Grand Prix. Russell, 18, raced in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship last year, taking two victories en route to third place in the final standings. Russell becomes the third member of Mercedes' junior programme alongside Formula 1 drivers Pascal Wehrlein and Esteban Ocon. 'It's great to be part of the Junior Programme.
