Mercedes signs Russell to junior scheme
– Rising British star George Russell has joined Mercedes' young driver programme, and will graduate to the GP3 Series with ART Grand Prix this year.Russell, 18, placed third in last year's European Formula 3 championship and swept to pole position at Macau, before spending the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend installed within Mercedes' camp.Russell, who sampled the GP3/16 machine with ART during post-season testing, will now move into the category this year, with backing from the German manufacturer.Russell joins Sauber's Pascal Wehrlein and Force India's Esteban Ocon as members of Mercedes' young driver programme."George has shown impressive form in the junior categories and we've...
