Pirelli handed an extra test for wet tyres

Pirelli will take to the track for two extra days of testing having been granted additional time to run their wet weather tyres before the 2017 season gets underway. Pirelli have come in for a great deal of criticism of late over their wet weather tyres. Drivers and fans believed last year's British GP was unduly delayed behind the Safety Car at the start while the Brazilian Grand Prix not only began behind the Safety Car but had to be red flagged. With standing starts on the cards for this season, Pirelli's wet tyres are set to face further scrutiny.
