Alesi says Ferrari deal for Giovanazzi is 'fantastic'

Jean Alesi definitely left his heart in Maranello as the former Ferrari star still takes a keen interest in the Scuderia's performance and actions. Speaking to the Gazetta dello Sport, the Frenchman hailed Ferrari's decision to nominate GP2 runner-up Antonio Giovanazzi as its reserve driver this year, as Alesi evidently holds the young hopeful in high regard. "It's fantastic," the Frenchman said, "but it would have been astonishing if Ferrari had allowed such an opportunity to escape.
