Giovinazzi confirmed as Ferrari reserve driver for 2017
Ferrari have revealed that Antonio Giovinazzi has joined the team as their reserve driver for the 2017 season. The Italian enjoyed a successful first year in the GP2 Series in 2016 by taking five victories on his way to second place in the championship, missing out in the final race weekend to Pierre Gasly. His highlights included a home victory at the Monza circuit and a rare double victory in Baku, where he won both the feature and the sprint race. Following his victory in Monza, Giovinazzi was rewarded with a run in the Ferrari simulator and has now been confirmed as their official ‘third driver' for 2017, which is thought to include outings at the official Formula One test days....
