Pat Symonds leaves Williams

Williams chief technical officer Pat Symonds has left Williams according to media reports that have emerged today. During his first full season with Williams, the Grove outfit finished third in the 2014 Formula 1 World Championship and repeated the result in the 2015 season. This year the team struggled to match the pace setters and slipped to fifth in the table, behind Force India. Symonds, who is 63, is reportedly set to be replaced by Mercedes technical chief Paddy Lowe, who is expected to slot into a senior role within the team.
