Williams willing to let Bottas join Mercedes

Williams have confirmed that they are open to the idea of letting Valtteri Bottas join Mercedes, but only if they can sign an experienced driver as a replacement. Since Nico Rosberg's shock decision to retire from Formula One just days after claiming the world championship, Valtteri Bottas has emerged as a primary target to replace the Mercedes driver. Discussions have taken place between Mercedes and Williams, but an initial offer from the reigning constructors champions is understood to have been rejected.
