The 2017 Pirelli Formula 1 tyre tests in numbers

Over the last few months Pirelli has conducted extensive testing on its new, wider range of 2017 Formula 1 tyres. The Italian tyre supplier has completed 24 days of running on its new 2017 compounds, with three teams being involved. Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull have racked up laps with the new tyres, which are 25% wider than the current range of compounds. The three teams used modified 2015 ‘mule’ cars to complete the tyre testing, which took place at five different tracks (Yas Marina Circuit, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Fiorano, Mugello and Paul Ricard).
