Williams reject Mercedes proposal for Bottas

Williams have rejected Mercedes offer to release lead driver Valtteri Bottas for 2017 in exchange for a cheaper engine supply deal, as Mercedes admit that Bottas is their prime option.  A new report emerged, which clearly highlighted that Mercedes had already put in substantial efforts to recruit Valtteri Bottas; the Brackley-based suit offered Williams a decrease of £8.4m in their engine supply deal. Another report seen by F1 Hub linked the Bottas-to-Mercedes move directly with the emerging rumors that Paddy Lowe could make the move to Williams.
