Rosberg crowned World Champion at FIA Gala

– The retiring Nico Rosberg has been officially crowned as the 2016 Formula 1 World Champion during the FIA's annual Prize-Giving Gala at the Hofburg Palace in Austria's capital Vienna.Rosberg clinched the title during last weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after finishing in second place to Lewis Hamilton, taking the mantle of World Champion away from his team-mate.Rosberg, though, stunned the sporting world prior to the ceremony on Friday when he announced that he would be retiring from Formula 1 with immediate effect, having achieved his childhood goal."This year was extremely tough because I put absolutely everything into it.
