No Germany but Baku/Le Mans clash avoided in new 2017 calendar
The FIA have confirmed a 20-race calendar for the 2017 Formula One season, after losing the German Grand Prix. Hockenheim boss Georg Seiler revealed last week that the German race would not be taking place next year. The loss of Germany means other races have seen a date change from the previous version of the calendar released at the last World Motor Sport Council meeting in September. Baku has been pushed back a week, avoiding the clash with the Le Mans 24 Hour, with the race also being renamed from the European Grand Prix to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Austrian, British and Hungary Grand Prix have also been pushed back a week, so that the race in Spielberg takes places on July 9,...
