Pirelli expects three seconds per lap gain
– Pirelli says that it is anticipating lap times next year to be around three seconds quicker than 2016, following the presentation of its 2017 tyres in Abu Dhabi.Pirelli's tyres will be 25 per cent wider than the current specification, with the front tyre expanding from 245 to 305mm, and the rear tyres growing from 325mm to 405mm.Pirelli has been conducting private running with Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari supplying 2015 cars modified to simulate the levels of downforce expected next season."I'd like to thank all the teams that have allowed us to develop our new wider tyres for 2017, using their mule cars," said Pirelli motorsport boss Paul Hembery."We've made huge...
