Mercedes tops opening day at Interlagos

Mercedes AMG Petronas Mercedes set the fastest times in the two practice sessions at Interlagos on Friday, with Lewis Hamilton finishing in front of his team-mate in both occasions. Nico Rosberg ended the first session o P3 and set the second fastest time in the afternoon session. The Mercedes drivers ran the Medium and Soft compound tyres in both sessions. “It’s been a good day. We got through all of our run programmes and the car is feeling really good. It’s pretty tough out here physically right now with the heat as high as it is.
