Vettel escapes sanction over radio outburst

Mexican Grand Prix – Sebastian Vettel has not been sanctioned by the FIA over his radio outburst in Mexico. The German repetitively used foul language on the team radio, which was directed at competitor Max Verstappen during an on-track battle for the podium, and Race Director Charlie Whiting. After the race Vettel apologised to both Whiting and Verstappen for his behaviour. “In the light of this sincere apology and strong commitment, the FIA President has decided, on an exceptional basis, not to take disciplinary action against Mr Vettel by bringing this matter before the FIA International Tribunal,” read the FIA statement. “The FIA will always condemn the use of offensive...
