Jolyon Palmer: “70 laps on one set of tyres is probably some sort of record”
Jolyon Palmer was happy with the outcome of the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday as the Renault Sport Formula 1 Team race finished fourteenth despite having started at the back of the field. The Briton had missed qualifying as his team replaced his chassis following an incident during final practice that cause it to crack, but after switching from the Supersoft compound of tyre on the opening lap to the Medium, Palmer made the set of tyres last until the chequered flag. It could have been better for Palmer, but with his tyres not being in the best of condition towards the end of the race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, he slipped behind both of the McLaren-Honda F1 Team racers. “I think...
