Vettel gets time penalty, Ricciardo promoted to podium

Mexican Grand Prix – Sebastian Vettel has been handed a ten second time penalty which has promoted Daniel Ricciardo to the podium. The German was investigated by the Stewards after the race for potentially “driving dangerously or erratically” during his defence of fourth place against Ricciardo in the closing stages of the Grand Prix. The pair had already benefitted from a five second penalty for Max Verstappen, who was deemed two have gained a lasting advantaging by cutting the track at Turns One, Two and Three whilst defending his podium place against Vettel.
