Alonso: Q2 exit means McLaren can attack
– Fernando Alonso says that his exit from the second segment of qualifying for the United States Grand Prix means he will be able to attack midfield rivals during the opening stages of the race.Alonso squeezed into the top 10 during the final practice session but was knocked out in Q2 on Saturday, falling two-tenths of a second shy of a space in Q3.Alonso nonetheless feels that his starting position of 12th is preferable to finishing among the slowest drivers in Q3."Getting car into Q3 in ninth or 10th but then having to start the race on used Super Soft tyres would be a problem, as other cars would catch us easily after four or five laps owing to the degradation," he...
