Sauber defends use of year-old engines

– Sauber Team Principal Monisha Kaltenborn insists that the squad's decision to retain Ferrari's 2016 engines for use in the 2017 season is not a financially-motivated choice.Sauber has slumped to the foot of the Constructors' championship and has not scored a point since last year's US Grand Prix, with the C35-Ferrari hampered by a lack of development.Sauber was acquired mid-season by Longbow Finance, which gave the green light to an array of updates, but the team will instead use year-old Ferrari engines next season.Kaltenborn once again emphasised her stance that the decision has been made in order to focus on developing its chassis with a known quantity in terms of the...
