Hamilton beats Rosberg to US GP pole position

Lewis Hamilton will start the United States Grand Prix from pole position after setting the pace in qualifying at the Circuit of the Americas. The four-time US GP winner set the pace after the first Q3 runs, before going quicker on his final attempt to put in a 1m34.999. Championship leader and Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg couldn’t quite beat Hamilton, finishing two tenths further back. Daniel Ricciardo was third fastest, just over half a second down on Hamilton’s time, with Max Verstappen fourth. Red Bull opted to split strategies in Q2, with Verstappen making it through to the top 10 shoot-out on the softs, which will be the tyre he will start the race on. Kimi Raikkonen...
