Ricciardo feels Red Bull can beat Mercedes after encouraging Friday pace

United States Grand Prix – The strong long run pace Red Bull showed on Friday has given Daniel Ricciardo hope that they can beat Mercedes this weekend. The Australian was able to split the two Mercedes drivers during the qualifying simulations in FP2, and was just two tenths of a second off pacesetter Nico Rosberg’s time. During the long runs in the latter stages of the session, both Ricciardo and team mate Max Verstappen proved to be on par with Mercedes as their lap times were consistently close. “I’m happy with today.
