Vettel: Ferrari was on ‘back foot’
Scuderia Ferrari Sebastian Vettel is not happy with how the first two practice sessions at the Circuit of the Americas went for him after a damaged wing cost him track time in FP1 and performance in FP2. The German is confident the pace will be better on Saturday as Ferrari couldn’t show its full potential on Friday. A trip over the kerbs during the first session damaged some front end aero components and the right rearview mirror on his SF16-H which required repairs before he was able to go back out on track. The afternoon sunshine led to an increase in track temperate of around 10 degrees compared to FP1, which increased the grip levels. The programme in FP2 got underway with some...
