Hamilton leads Rosberg in US GP first practice
Lewis Hamilton started the United States Grand Prix and his fightback to cut into teammate Nico Rosberg's hefty championship lead with the fastest time in the opening practice session at the Circuit of the Americas. The triple champion was three-tenths quicker than his Mercedes counterpart despite the German fitted with a fresh power unit and nearly two seconds faster than the rest. 'Temperatures can fluctuate a lot here, so don’t read too much into this session,' Pirelli mentioned on its Twitter page as the session began under bright and sunny skies suggesting the times set would not be exactly representative.
