Webber announces retirement from professional racing Former-Formula 1 driver Mark Webber will retire from professional racing at the end of WEC season, the Australian speedy confirmed in a joint statement with his current team Porsche on Thursday. Webber challenged in 215 F1 races for Minardi, Jaguar, Williams and Red Bull before leaving in 2013 with nine top podiums and has been racing in the World Endurance Championship with Porsche. The Aussie has announced his retirement before becoming a 'Porsche representative' next year. 'I have arrived where I belong,' Webber said.
