Mercedes withdraws Verstappen protest

Mercedes has withdrawn the protest against Max Verstappen's defensive move on Lewis Hamilton in the Japanese Grand Prix. The German squad had lodged the protest after the race, feeling that Verstappen's move had been dangerous as he defended from Hamilton's attack at the final chicane two laps from the end. The FIA announced later that the hearing would be delayed until the United States Grand Prix in two weeks because neither driver was on track to discuss the issue. However, the team has decided to withdraw the penalty.
