Sauber to run 2016-spec Ferrari engines in 2017

Sauber have revealed that they will use one-year-old Ferrari power units to compete in the 2017 season, in order to focus on other development areas. The Swiss team will continue with the same 2016-specification Ferrari power units for next season, in order to concentrate on ‘chassis and performance development'. The move has been caused by a change in the technical regulations for next season, which will see a host of chassis and bodywork redevelopments, which will effectively see teams create brand new cars.
