Sauber to use year-old engines in 2017

– Sauber has confirmed that it will use 2016-specification Ferrari power units in Formula 1 next season, rather than use the Maranello operation's current-year engines.Sauber, which has been powered by Ferrari since BMW's exit in 2009, has used current-year power units throughout the V6 era.For 2017 Sauber will use the final specification 2016 power unit as it bids to climb up the Formula 1 grid, having failed to score a point so far this season.Sauber's decision to use a 2016-specification engine means only Ferrari and Haas will use the outfit's 2017 power unit, a reduction compared to this season.Toro Rosso currently uses Ferrari's 2015-specification power units but will return to...
