Perez happy with seventh after “intense” qualifying

Malaysian Grand Prix – Sergio Perez was very happy with his performance in what he described as an “intense” qualifying session. The Mexican driver qualified in seventh place, behind the two Mercedes, Red Bulls and Ferraris. He managed to out-perform team mate Nico Hulkenberg in eighth and both Williams drivers, with whom they are in a close battle with for fourth in the constructors’ championship. “I’m very happy with our performance,” Perez said, “It was very important to execute a perfect qualifying session and I think that is what we did.
