Ocon’s pit lane blunder
Manor's racing director expresses his disappointment in the young Esteban Ocon’s first pit stop of Singapore…. Esteban Ocon, A driver from the Mercedes driving academy, got off to a horrible start to the Malaysian GP. Ocon was already set for a slow stop thanks to a 5-second penalty he had to serve after ‘passing’ Felipe Nasr after the safety car warning was brought out. This coupled with a slow run and pit lane miscalculation, left Ocon in the pit lane for 1:44m. Manor’s Racing Director Dave Ryan was commented as saying the pit stop was an ‘unmitigated disaster’.
