Formula 1 trials Ultra High Definition in Singapore before 2017 debut

Formula 1 is looking to take the next step in broadcasting by switching to Ultra High Definition (UHD) broadcasting next season, following a successful trial at the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend. The test was run by F1 technical partner Tata Communications and broadcaster Sky, which plans to roll-out UHD coverage for every race on the 2017 calendar. In order to deliver UHD, state-of-the-art cameras were used in Singapore to capture every detail, with the footage mixed by FOM's Broadcast Centre on-site in Singapore, before being sent to Sky’s HQ in Osterley, UK.
