Formula 1 starts Ultra High Definition tests

– Formula 1 trialled its first broadcasting in Ultra High Definition (UHD) at the Singapore Grand Prix, prior to all races being shown in improved quality from the 2017 season.Tata Communications, a technical partner of Formula 1, worked with broadcaster Sky at the Marina Bay circuit to deliver the first ever end-to-end broadcast of a Grand Prix in UHD.Multiple state-of-the-art UHD cameras were taken to Singapore, with footage from these mixed in the FOM Brodcast Centre, before being distributed to Sky's UK headquarters.Sky has already announced plans to show all races in UHD next season."UHD offers four times higher resolution than HD, making F1 a more powerful, immersive...
