Ricciardo surprised no more teams chose supersoft

Daniel Ricciardo admitted he was surprised only his Red Bull chose to start the Singapore Grand Prix on supersoft tyres. Both the Australian and teammate Max Verstappen set their fastest laps in Q2 with the supersoft compound, while their rivals chose the ultrasoft for the start of the race. Ricciardo, who qualified second behind Mercedes' Nico Rosberg, said starting with the red-marked compound was not a late decision. "It was always the plan even before the weekend," said Ricciardo.
