Sergio Perez: “I'm lacking confidence with the car”

Sergio Perez admitted to feeling far from confident with his VJM09 during free practice for the Singapore Grand Prix, and hopes he can improve his car ahead of Saturday’s running. The Sahara Force India driver finished outside the top ten in both sessions, with the Mexican twelfth in first practice and eleventh in the second, and revealed that he had a braking issue towards the end of the session that affected his long run. Perez remains confident that he and his team can overcome their difficult Friday and come back into contention for the rest of the weekend, with his main aim of having a good qualifying session on Saturday.
