Bottas disappointed to fall short of podium target

Italian Grand Prix – Williams' Valtteri Bottas says he had expected more from the Monza race, despite finishing a competitive P6. Bottas was one of the stars of the opening half of the race, jumping up to P4 from a fifth place start after Lewis Hamilton's tardy getaway. Helpless to defend against the recovering Mercedes, he succumbed to Hamilton's advances and settled into P5. Running a two stop strategy, he came under pressure from the three stopping Daniel Ricciardo in the closing stages after the Red Bull driver fitted a set of SuperSofts for a short dash to the finishing line.
