Nico Rosberg wins Driver of the Day award for Italian GP
Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg has won the ‘Driver of the Day’ award for the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The German driver took a dominant first victory at the Italian GP and seventh of the 2016 F1 season, having started in second place. He benefitted from team-mate Lewis Hamilton’s poor start to hold off Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari on the run to the first corner. Rosberg proved to be unchallenged throughout the race, as Mercedes opted for a one-stop strategy for its two drivers. He crossed the line 15 seconds clear of Hamilton to claim victory and was awarded Driver of the Day by F1 fans. After each round of the 2016 season, F1 viewers are able to vote for...
