Nico Rosberg wins Driver of the Day award for Italian GP

Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg has won the ‘Driver of the Day’ award for the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The German driver took a dominant first victory at the Italian GP and seventh of the 2016 F1 season, having started in second place. He benefitted from team-mate Lewis Hamilton’s poor start to hold off Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari on the run to the first corner. Rosberg proved to be unchallenged throughout the race, as Mercedes opted for a one-stop strategy for its two drivers.
