Marcus Ericsson: “It feels like we have taken a step forward”

Marcus Ericsson finished sixteenth in the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, and despite never being in contention for a points finish, the Swede felt the pace was decent throughout the 53-lap event. The Sauber F1 Team driver felt the team have made a significant step forward since they introduced the first upgrades of the season last weekend in Belgium, but was still unhappy to be fighting towards the back of the field at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. “It was a decent race,” admitted Ericsson. “It is surely disappointing that we could not fight for points higher up in the midfield. “It feels like we have taken a step forward compared to the race weekends before the summer break, but...
