Rosberg cruises to Monza victory after poor Hamilton getaway

Italian Grand Prix – Nico Rosberg reduces Lewis Hamilton's lead at the top of the drivers' championship to two points after securing victory at Monza. After locking out the front row, the battle between the two Mercedes drivers was decided at the very start of the race, following a poor getaway from championship leader Lewis Hamilton. Starting from pole position, Hamilton was demoted to sixth place by the end of lap one, being passed by Rosberg, Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, Valtteri Bottas and Daniel Ricciardo. The Briton's fightback involved overtakes on Ricciardo and Bottas, whilst the two-stopping Ferrari's eventually lost out to the one-stopping Mercedes drivers. This allowed Rosberg...
